We are looking for a Part-Time Children’s Ministries Director.

This position reports to Rev. Joel Black, Lead Pastor and will be 10 hours per week. This is a term position commencing mid-August 2025 and ending mid-June 2026.

We are looking for a person to oversee the Christian education and programming for children from birth to grade 5. Cornerstone is a faith community with over 20 nations represented. As part of a collaborate team, this is an opportunity to help lead and guide young children in their faith journeys at a multi-generational, multi-ethnic, Jesus-centred church.

We are a church based in the Windsor Park neighbourhood of Winnipeg and many in our church come from this community. In addition to Sunday services, we run a food bank, clothing outreach and Windsor Park Dinner Church. Different community groups use our building throughout the week. We are located directly across the street from a K-8 school and a few hundred meters from two high schools and another elementary school. We also share a parking lot with three daycare centres.

Qualifications:
First and foremost, the applicant must be a sincere follower of Jesus. Their love of God and love for others must be demonstrated in their life in ways that are tangible and evident. Applicants must be willing to abide by the Statement of Faith for The Alliance Canada. Applicant must have a mouldable spirit and be able to work in a team environment; diligent in gathering curricula; enthusiastic and creative in planning; good at training and equipping volunteers; have organizational skills; and have the ability to build positive relationships with young children and their parents.

Duties:
• With the help of the lead pastor, investigate and find suitable curricula for the Christian
education of children from preschool to grade 5
• Organize and give oversight to a nursery for children from birth to 30 months
• Recruit and train all youth and adult volunteers for nursery care and Sunday school,
ensuring that the proper Child Safe guidelines are followed for the safety of all children and volunteers
• Provide guidance to the volunteers
• Plan and arrange activities, material and set up for Sunday school each week
• Schedule and communicate with nursery and Sunday school volunteers
• Be available to fill in on Sunday mornings if needed
• Ensure classrooms and play environments are kept safe and sanitary, implementing a
cleaning schedule
• Look after communications with parents

Other Requirements:
• Successful criminal record screening
• Be willing to attend Cornerstone Alliance Church on Sundays from 9:00am to 12:00pm
weekly
• Work 10 hours per week in-office, including 3 hours on Sundays
• Christian education is an asset and is preferred but not necessary
• Experience working with children is ideal but not essential
