The Youth specialization is for students desiring to understand youth and young adults and for developing skills in youth ministry.



Career & Ministry Opportunities

Graduates are servant leaders in their churches and communities working in youth ministry and leadership careers including:

  • Youth Pastors
  • Youth Leaders
  • Reaching youth/young adults in Manitoba (Youth For Christ), Canada, and other countries around the world (YoutWAM, Quest)
  • Camp Ministries (ie. camp directors, program directors, activity programmers)
  • Discipleship Schools
  • Counselling

Graduates may also go on to serve their communities in areas such as education, nursing, business, social work, TESOL, agriculture, and domestic life.

Some continue in Christian seminaries and graduate schools, university studies, or vocational training.

Learning Outcomes

Youth
  • Develop an understanding of youth culture and ministry from a biblical perspective.
  • Develop skills in assisting youth and young adults in their spiritual development.
  • Acquire educational theory and skills for effective biblical teaching.
  • Demonstrate the leadership, mentoring, and discipleship skills required for serving youth in Christian outdoor education.
  • Articulate a Christian philosophy of youth ministry.
Biblical Studies
  • Demonstrate foundational knowledge of the Bible and evangelical Anabaptist theology.
  • Display competent biblical interpretation and practical application.
  • Practice the spiritual disciplines necessary for a lifelong faith commitment.
  • Develop critical thinking, researching, writing, and communication skills.
  • Implement problem solving skills in interpersonal and intercultural contexts.
  • Demonstrate servant leadership skills for ministry and work.
