Cornerstone Ministries Church is seeking a half-time Youth Pastor to co-lead a team ministering to the youth in our church and community.
The successful candidate will have a strong call to youth ministry where they will be given the opportunity to work in their areas of strength to teach, mentor, disciple and shepherd youth to grow in their faith with God.

Qualifications:
The successful candidate will meet the following qualifications:
The Youth Pastor must demonstrate a love for all youth, nurturing and discipling youth from all walks of life. The Youth Pastor needs the heart of a shepherd who cares deeply for their flock.
The Youth Pastor must demonstrate integrity and spiritual maturity in all areas of life, modeling a life of faithfulness, teachability and reliability among other Christian virtues.
The Youth Pastor must be willing to care for their own physical, mental and spiritual health, taking time for regular rest and finding opportunities to continue to grow in knowledge and in depth.
The Youth Pastor needs to be sensitive to the needs and challenges of the youth in the wider community, finding ways to be in touch with the pulse of current youth culture.
The Youth Pastor is expected to endorse Cornerstone’s Doctrine Statement (available on the website) and the Membership Commitment Statement (available upon request).
The Youth Pastor must meet Cornerstone’s Protection Plan criteria which includes a Criminal Record Check and a Child Abuse Registry Check.

Duties and Responsibilities: The two youth pastors will work as partners to divide the work of the following three areas.
Junior Youth (Grades 7&8)
Lead a team of volunteers, encouraging and enabling them to minister well.
Lead regular Jr. Youth nights (currently every other Wednesday evening). This includes teaching and overseeing activities like games and snacks.
Plan 3-4 weekend activities per year (Winter Retreat, Menno Run, Outreach Events, etc.)
Find opportunities to meet with youth one-on-one or in other ways outside of regular events to provide mentoring and discipleship.

Senior Youth (Grades 9-12)
Lead a team of volunteers, encouraging and enabling them to minister well.
Lead regular Sr. Youth nights (currently every Tuesday evening). This includes teaching and leading small groups as well as overseeing activities like games and snacks.
Plan bi-monthly weekend activities (Winter Retreat, Menno Run, Outreach Events, etc.).
Co-lead an annual Spring Break Mission Trip

Young Adults
Lead young adult gatherings together with a team of volunteers
Current schedule is bi-weekly lunches and bi-weekly games nights
Lead the group in attending young adult conferences or other outreach events

Meetings and Office Hours
Maintain regular office hours totaling approximately 4-6 hours/week, as needed. Office hours will be flexible, determined by what works best for all concerned.
Attend weekly pastoral meetings with Pastor Peter and Pastor Jeff to share concerns and to encourage and pray for one another
Attend elder meetings every other week to discuss wider church issues, including providing a regular youth report (approx. 3 hours)
Lead occasional meetings with parents to discuss youth issues, especially around mission trips.

Other Church Commitments
Preach 1-3 times per year.
Lead baptism classes with youth in conjunction with the Senior Pastor.
Teach youth Sunday School (this is optional, depending on gifting).

Terms of Employment
Salary will be in keeping with church’s pastoral salary grid and reviewed annually (available upon request).
Tentative start date is July 1, 2026.
The successful candidate will commit to approximately 20-25 hours per week to fulfill the above responsibilities and is expected to manage outside employment and family life accordingly.
